1. Do I have to attend an approved pre-licensing class in order to obtain my insurance license?

No. Effective November 1, 2009, agents and adjusters are now able to choose between online pre-licensing or classroom pre-licensing courses that have been approved by the Mississippi Department of Insurance.

2. How many classroom hours are required? 

40 hours of pre-licensing are required for those interested in selling Life, Health & Accident insurance. 20 hours for adjusters. The following self-study credit hours will be awarded upon passing a written examination with a minimum score of 70%.  Life, Health & Accident (16 hrs.), Property & Casualty (16 hrs.), Adjuster (8 hrs.), Life-only (8 hrs.), Health & Accident only (8 hrs.).

3. What is the cost of pre-licensing class?

Life, Health & Accident, Life only, and Health & Accident only classes are $200 with manual. Property & Casualty pre-licensing classes are $210 with manual, and Adjusters pre-licensing classes are $210 with manual.

4. How do I pre-register for a class?

First, click on the “Mississippi Class Schedule” tab to determine which class dates are most convenient for you, remember Life, Health & Accident and Property & Casualty classes are three days. Once you have selected your dates, click on the “Registration Page” tab and register, it’s that simple.

5. Can I cancel or reschedule a class?

No-shows will not be transferred nor refunded. There will be a $25 handling fee for rescheduling a class and a $100 fee for cancellations. Transfers and Cancellations must be requested 24 hours in advance of the first class meeting. All requests must be made in writing and should be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to RBS Solutions, LLC.
